How often do you book hotels for 400-500$ per night (or more)? We don’t. Ever. But what if you receive it as a present from your parents for your 30th birthday?

First you feel bad, don’t want them to splash so much money on you – at least that’s what it’s been to me. But then you realize the hotel voucher can’t be returned, you start to realize that this will be your once-in-a-lifetime hotel stay one day.

We’ve waited for about 9 or 10 months until we decided it should be the night once becoming unemployed – the day when my official contract with the company ended – and wake-up unemployed in pure luxury. And it’s been an amazing stay.

Wie oft bucht man schon ein Hotel für 400-500 Dollar oder mehr? Wir nie. Aber was, wenn man es als Geschenk von den eigenen Eltern zum 30sten Geburtstag bekommt?

Zunächst wollte ich den Gutschein zurückgeben, so dass sie nicht so viel Geld an mir verschwenden. Aber wenn du feststellst, dass du den Gutschein nich zurückgeben kannst, fängst du an zu realisieren, dass das wohl die eine Nacht in einem exklusiven Hotel sein wird.

Wir haben fast ein Jahr gewartet und den Termin so gelegt, dass ich nach dem letzten Tag meiner Anstellung arbeitslos im Luxus aufwachen werde. Und es war ein absoluter Traum!

Riding overland and crossing 24 borders is an exciting adventure that we want to share with you and put together our best places and greatest experiences, things to see, things to do and hope to pass on some tips & tricks we learned along the way.
